The CC teaches that we have free will. There can be no destiny in the sense that we are pre-ordained to do good or evil.

There is destiny only in the sense that we will die and be judged worthy or unworthy to be with Him.

God has a plan for all Creation, a plan that cannot be upset except by the exercise of our own free will.

Nothing is random in the sense that there is no plan behind Creation. The laws of nature are not random. They were made inevitable at the dawn of Creation.

Random events or blind chance do not exist, except in the sense that things happen that we do not expect to happen, we are surprised by them, and sometimes think of them as accidents of nature. Such events follow nature’s laws, and laws are not random. If they were, all of nature would be chaos.

Not even an imaginable scenario.

It is a false dilemma! As Charlemagne has pointed out, we are responsible for our own destiny and even if random events occur - which is debatable - they are insignificant in the context of our power of self-determination.
