I thought that you all might be interesting in getting some feedback from a non-Catholic about my thought about this site:
  • This is the best and most focused Christian Apologetics forum on the web. Most Catholics here are very well informed and passionate about their beliefs. In other words, you know what you believe and have thought through it. I appreciate this very much.
  • Lisa4Catholics is a sweet person who I see as the nun of this site (I am not sure if that is appropriate to say). She is a peacemaker and is always ready to pray for people. I am glad to have her pray for me.
  • Gottle is the wise sage of the site. He is always ready with an answer that is full of wisdom. He seems to be very well respected. I appreciate his kindness.
  • Vern has a lot of patience and truly wants to help.
  • Militant scares me at first, but then after you get to know him, he is a great guy with a soft heart.
  • Phil has become a good friend who knows his stuff. He is very gracious in the way he engages people.
  • Itsjustdave is very challenging and helpful
  • Pax does not stop trying to help. He has a GREAT savant’s heart.
  • Paul D has some great contributions and a good sense of humor.
  • Marineboy is mad and thinks that Catholics are too soft.
  • Protestants and Catholics often speak past each other, not understanding what each other believes.
  • There are many idiot people who come here and bash you all without any knowledge. I don’t blame you for being on your guard.
  • I believe you all truly love Christ, and I am so excited to learn this.
  • I can learn much from you all.
  • Thanks to the moderators.
Thank you all once again for putting up with me. I truly am learning a lot from you all.

Michael

Thanks for your “Merry Christmas” card. We all have to really watch it now… and continue to live up to your acculades. I think you will be remembered at many Masses on Christmas Day.

I second that… Great post Michael.

Good post Michael,I would have agree with your observation of our christian brothers and sisters. It great to come in and be part of the body of Christ.I believe this how Christ would want us to behave.God Bless.

Your post made me smile. There are so many wonderful people on this forum and a few challenging ones too. But even the challenging ones come with great hearts and intense desire to help.

Thank you for taking the time to notice and post your appreciation.

Merry Christmas, Michael – and a Merry Christmas to all, as well.

Merry Christmas Michael and thankyou for your kind words,I amnot a nun but I do believe we should pray and pray and pray. When we humans try to fix things we make a mess:D God Bless You and your family this Christmas and I am glad to know you:)

Thanks michaelp for the feedback and for giving us the chance to exercise our brains. Have a peaceful and blessed Christmas.

Fidelis

Don’t let your guards down. Remember the story of the shepard boy? Wear a smile, but keep the brass knucks on.

Ha, Ha, Ha, be careful. I say this while I remember how I was treated on a cofc site. After being beat up, I was banned,

Christmas is here, so look out for the fruitcakes. We do our best, and when enthusiasm gets in the way of charity, please forgive us.

Marry Christmas back at you, michaelp.
I’d post more responses to your interesting threads, but by the time I see them, there are 87 posts and everybodys into it. I’ll try to keep up more. I love a good challenge.

I always appreciate honest, well-informed posters, even if they’re non-Catholic. A Very Blessed Christmas to you.

Gerry 🙂

No, your not mad. You just struggle to put together cohesive arguments and your punctuation & grammar are below par. I’m sure your intentions are honourable (bringing back protestants to the Catholic Church) you just go about it the **totally wrong way.
**

Try listening to the poster’s here who have given you good advice / material, **especially those of us who are ex protestants and know a lot more about the problems in this area than you do. **

Catholics are not too soft. You don’t necessarily win souls by simply “winning” arguments ! Any veteran Catholic apologist knows this too well.

You may “win” a debate but do you honestly think you can genuinely persuade a Protestant about the Truth in Catholicism by loudly and arrogantly telling him he’s dead wrong to his face?

Truth can be proclaimed and defended calmly and reasonably without waving your fists at their faces. Please do not confuse the method for the substance.

Gerry 🙂
