Funeral Held For Council Bluffs Fetus

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa – Funeral services were held in Council Bluffs Friday morning for the remains of a 17-week-old fetus, known as Baby Boy Doe.

About 20 people attended the short service at Memorial Park Cemetery.

The fetus was discovered last month by a couple walking through another Council Bluffs cemetery. Police are still searching for the mother.

A local funeral home donated the casket and organized the funeral. The cemetery donated the burial plot for the child.

I just had an idea after reading this. I’m sure many have thought of this before. However, if states cannot pass laws outlawing abortions, could they pass a law requiring that all aborted children receive a proper burial?

I think that would at least raise great awareness and take care of the “out of sight-out of mind” syndrome in this country. Just a thought.
