I know Jesus says to only worry about today for tomorrow has enough troubles of its’ own. It is very hard sometimes not think of the things down the road.

My wife and I just received into this world a beautiful daughter. Mia Marie was 4 weeks early but healthy. Mom and daughter are doing wonderful at home now. I am beginning to understand to a very small extent the meaning of unconditional love when you hold you child in your arms. I pray that the feeling never leaves. GOD is great. There is nothing in this world I have ever done or will do to deserve such a gift. I pray I can be a good a father as St. Joseph was.

I’ve had some time to think the past few days as I held her in the hospital room. The news was on the TV in the background. All the stories dealt with violence, hatred, drugs, etc… It saddened me a little to think my little girl will be growing up in a world that seems to be closing itself up to Christ and Truth. I worry about her, what struggles she will face, etc… How do the other parents on here cope with this? I know I should pray and let go and let GOD. It gets difficult sometimes.

I know GOD is good and in the end, he triumphs. I guess you can chalk it up to first time parent jitters. I always thought I knew how I would feel being a dad. Let me just say…it is beyond anything I could think of. Holding her while she sleeps is the most comforting thing in this world right now.

She is only 5 days old right now, but sometimes she gets these little grins and it looks like she is laughing. I think she is talking to the Angels… She just grins and she is sound asleep.

Sorry if I rambled on…I have so full of emotion right now.

God Bless each and every one of you and your family,

Peace in Christ,
Robert III

I felt all of those things when I became a mother, too. The emotions are very intense. Very “rock-your-world” type feelings. I remember with my second baby, because I wasn’t as jittery as I was with the first, I held her next to me in the hospital bed and barely slept a wink because I just couldn’t take my eyes off of her. I knew how tired I would be, but we don’t get those kind of moments every day and I wanted to drink in every single second. I still feel so much awe, especially during the quiet moments with my children.

I also felt those fears, and still do. I remind myself that it is my job to raise them with faith and love for Christ. If we let the “evil forces” prevent us from bringing new life for Christ into the world, well, we’re cowering under the rule of fear. And we can’t live like that. I pray for my children and I ask thousands of angels to surround them and make a canopy over them with their wings. I imagine them coming down and doing just that as I pray it, and I sense an enormous peace afterward. :heaven:

First of all… A GIANT congratulations! People like yourself, are what bringing new life into this world a wonderful opportunity.

As an expecting parent myself anything within the next 3 weeks, I feel the same way already. We view it as an obligation and opportunity to have one more person on this planet to share in and spread the faith.

Good luck and God Bless you and your new family.

My little angel is 11 now. I still feel that unconditional love. Both my kids are great kids, love serving God and think their parents are the coolest. Keep your home filled with love and respect for each other and for God and you will have a much better chance for raising very awesome kids.

Good luck, God bless and hold on!
