…yes, circumcision is no longer a requirement in the New Covenant since Christ is, in effect, our Circumcision (Romans 6:3-6)… what I understand about non-Covenant circumcision is that some time ago it was the medical concensus that male children who were circumcise would avoid certain infections… and there’s that snag of the unattentive that zip and go…Thats alot of verbage, I dont even know what you are trying to get at any more. Really my question about Galations 5 and the Old Law has already been answered thank you.
However, I am now interested in how Paul approaches the issue of Circumcision. It appears that he denouces the practice of circumcision because it was used by traditional Jews as a sign of fidelity to the entirety of the Old Law (yes/no? is anyone still alive on this thread?) And if circumcision means agreeing with the entirety of the Old Law, then why are Catholic babies getting circumcised today?
Maran atha!
