Ana,
I like the gloves that are coated rubber on one side and breathable fabric on the back of your hand.
I sweat quite a bit while gardening. I usually garden in a t-shirt and lightweight hiking shorts that have a mesh liner. Since I can wear the shorts without underwear, I can stay drier. I wear old shoes or Teva sandals when I need to. Bare feet when I can get away with it.
As it gets hotter, I try to limit my gardening to the morning hours. I save areas that are shaded for afternoon work.
Another thing I usually wear is bug repellent. I hate the gnats around my face. It also helps keep the ticks off. Since you’re here in Maryland, you do have to watch out for deer ticks that may carry Lyme disease. Also, our deer love to eat almost everything.
I keep some liquid soap near the hose bib to give myself a preliminary cleaning.
Keep a water bottle handy as well.
Enjoy yourself.
