First of all, you seem to sending mixed messages in your response. I can’t tell if you’re for or against the suit - at different points in your post you seem to be critical of both sides. Secondly, when I said “it’s about time”, I meant that finally someone had the guts to go after the legislators themselves - I meant it in a totally supportive way even though it may not have come across in that fashion. What do you mean, “It’s about time!”? VoteOnMarriage.org has been working tirelessly in this state to restore the traditional definition of marriage. They organized the entire citizens initiative petition. They have lobbied legislators.
I would very much disagree that this story shows that it is time. Firstly, they have been working dilligently from the beginning. Secondly, the governor and 10 others have already filed a lawsuit that’s pretty much the same, so this is a duplicate suit. Thirdly, the legislators haven’t actually thwarted the amendment yet. They have until Jan. 2 to take a vote, and many people are critical of the move to sue before that deadline has passed.
Precisely. It is utterly ridiculous to except elected representatives to not be above the law. The Mass. legislature should be able to freely violate the law and ignore its constituency.I hope their lawsuit sheerly and utterly fails.![]()
why? are you for “gay marriage”?I hope their lawsuit sheerly and utterly fails.![]()
Can I ask why you feel this way? Your profile indicates that you’re an orthodox Catholic - your statement seems to contradict your professed beliefs.I hope their lawsuit sheerly and utterly fails.![]()
