Gay marriage in Spain! Abortion Referendum in Portugal!

I am shocked to learn, on the verge of a trip to the shrines of northern Spain, Fatima, and Lourdes, that the Socialists have succeeded in making gay marriage the law of the land in Spain, as of a vote on Friday, July 1st, overriding a veto by the Spanish senate.

We arrive in Lisbon the day of the abortion referendum, July 8. Gasp! Portugal has always banned abortion to date.

Does anyone know what can be done to reverse this horrendous tide of social decline?

I will investigate, discreetly, and post my observations to this thread.

The deal which was cut with the President was that adequate care was to be given to pregnant women. It was felt that, in order to justify requiring women to respect the right-to-life of their unborn children, then food, shelter, employment, child-care, and community care had to be guaranteed.
