An interesting column that almost raises a unique point. Wouldn’t it be deliciously ironic if Queen Elizabeth refused to ratify a UK gay marriage law? Think about it, the monarchy in the UK originally took charge of the Church in England (away from the pope) over a dispute about marriage in which the king was guilty of degrading the definition of marriage (its indissolubility). It would be a fine act of penance if the monarchy itself made a last stand in DEFENSE of the meaning of marriage.

Offer it up, your majesty. It’s worth it.
 
I like how the argument has become a matter of terms.

Marriage is not Her Majesty’s (or anyone else’s) to give-away.
