This might be picking at nits, but the title of the Yahoo article Gay Activists Arrested at Va. University is a bit more accurate than the title of this thread. After all, some of the activists arrested may well be straight. All we know is that the people arrested were advocating gay rights.

That said, I really don’t understand what they were trying to acheive. The article states:

Reitan and other Soulforce members said they did not intend to be arrested at the campus, but just hoped to talk to Liberty students.

but this could have been done without resorting to confrontation. An organized and persistant witness, with the cooperation of Liberty University, might have been possible. But holding a rally of 60 outsiders on a private campus can’t help be but be confrontational.
