Ur was a city in Mesopotamia, best known as the location of a short-lived dynasty conventionally dated from 2112 to 2004.
It was also important, like Harran, as the site of a major temple of the moon-god Nanna, AKA Sin or Su’en.
as for the Hebrew name Ur Chasdim - “Chasdim” is a late form of the name of the people known as the Khaldu, who did not enter Mesopotamia until many centuries after the possible dates for Abraham (which are between 1800 & 1400 or so). IOW, “Chasdim” is not what it would have been called between those dates, as there were no Chaldeans at the time.
