When the Church stops murder, abortion, rape, etc - I’m sure genital mutilation will be stopped as well.
 
I hope someone can answer this. It’s heartbreaking, isn’t it?
 
What exactly does the Catholic Church have to do with this? This problem really isn’t as widespread as those articles make it seem.

But it seems someone should be able to do something about it. It’s a problem like hunger. We must be doing something about it as we do about hunger and similar issues. I wish I could do something to stop the torture of children somehow.
 
If the people doing this aren’t Catholic what can the church do?

If they are Catholic, I’m sure they know better…The church can’t go into people’s homes and take their children away

Why is it the Churches responsibility?..It seems a matter for the civil authorities

I doubt that the people doing this will listen to anyone to begin with

Not that I’m saying this is a Catholic issue, but female circumcision IS widespread in many countries, such as Egypt.
