Hi! I am a new CA member and have a big favor to ask…do any of you know of any publisher that sells a large Family Catholic Bible bound in genuine leather???

So far, all of queries have been without luck.

Unfortunately, I have seen these and they’re not what I am looking for. I’m looking for a larger size family heirloom-type bible in the $200 range.

I greatly appreciate your suggestions!

Hi Cliff, there are some incredible co-incidences am coming across relating to topics over the past week. It was earlier this week I had mentioned under the family history of religions thread by ANP that my Grandmother had a large Family Bible in Australia (Beautiful dark brown leather actually Maroon in colour) where she has written all of Dad’s siblings names and date of births within the cover (first page) back in the late 1920’s (8 children).

Where Nanna originally purchased her large Leather bound Bible is a mystery to me however it may have been handed down to Nanna by her Mother before she died.

I will make some enquiries for you, one never knows, some of the Australian Catholic Book Shops may still sell these!

Hi Cliff,

A company located in Scotland is perhaps the better choice as opposed to Catholic Bookshops.

The best I have since discovered are a company in Scotland entitled “Allan’s” under Bible-direct.com whom hand make the largest leather bound Bibles (I briefly viewed a couple of the Bibles on their website which are similar to my Grandmother’s large old leather Bible).

Try Allens if Allan’s if the Bible-direct.com website does not appear.
