George & Ori? Art Bell Question

I get up very early in the morning and find myself listening to that overnight show about Extra Terrestial Findings etc…etc… Behind Rush Limbaugh it is the # 2 radio show in America. I also feel like maybe I should not expose myself to this. If anyone knows what I’m talking about. Is this a show that I should not be listening to??

They talk a lot about UFO’s Aliens, Flying Saucers, just weird stuff. I have found myself facinated by it. However like I said I wonder if I should steer clear from this. What is the Church’s stance on shows like this or just beliefs in general about life on other planets.

yea, those are strange shows.
I was out in L.A. last november for work, had to be up at 4AM on a Saturday and was driving to the work site listening to one of those guys, and some caller was claiming that a tsunami was headed toward Seattle and would decimate it by noon. I dont’ remember if it was Art Bell or George Noorey.

Anyway, I thought Art Bell was off the air because of some government conspiracy.

Anyways, the tsunami didn’t happen, and these guys are crackpots.
i think it’s innocent enough if you don’t buy into their schpiel.
But there are really strange people who call into those shows.
It is new-agey, but i doubt that many people take it that seriously as to be a threat to someone’s faith.

not sure about the Church’s stance…

but, in my opinion, this question depends on the person…
some can listen to any kind of stuff, and it never weakens
their faith… some, can be made to doubt by some weak
web page that makes no sense and has not basis of
truth…

if you find yourself questioning your faith, then by all
means… avoid them…

I think its pretty innocent, I mean, who says God didn’t let weird things happen? I like the idea of unexplainable events because it opens up people to the idea that we cannot know everything. SUre, their explanations are probably off, but at least they are looking into things that are caused by an unseen entity.

Yes you were listing to “Coast to Coast AM” with George Noory & Art Bell. I’ve been a big fan of the show since High School. They talk to a variety of different guests. Some are crack pots, others are fascinating. My favorites are Dr. Micho Kaku, Richard C. Hoagland, and Stanton Friedman. It is not wrong to listen to the program, you just need to take everything with a grain of salt. Enjoy the journey through the night! :tiphat:

I used to listen to this show (a.k.a “Ghost to Ghost AM”) on the way back from work or returning from observing with my telescope. I always laughed at the guys who talked about aliens. Apparently, I must be blind to them because I’ve always been looking in the right direction but have never seen them. Some of the Mars and FTL stuff is pretty interesting. I think they had a show on vampires that was pretty cool, but some of the people that call in…man, you’ve go to wonder what the heck they are on. I cannot believe that show is #2 behind Rush, but then again, Jerry Springer was pretty popular in college.
