I’m going to Germany in April and wonder if I can get an English translation of the Mass in German. I know the core of the Mass is the same, but I assume there are some slight differences between the German and US Mass. Any suggestions?

If you go to a German language Mass there, you will be hearing a German translation of the (Novus Ordo) Mass in Latin, just as you hear an English translation of the same Mass in the US. So - not sure I understand what you are looking for. The German translation is in fact a more faithful rendering of the Latin original than the English.

A very small example:

In Latin, the response the priest’s greeting Dominus Vobiscum (the Lord be with you), Et cum spiritu tuo, is literaly, “And with your spirit.” But the current English translation has it as “And also with you.”
But the German version preserves the literal meaning: Und mit deinem Geiste.

The only other difference I can think of is in the US, the people’s response to the mysterium fidei, “Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.” is not actually a translation of a prayer in the Latin original, but rather a newly composed prayer used with permission from Rome, if I am not mistaken.
