Hi there, first of all, sry for my english.

My question is, we have not so much catholic apologetics in german literatur.
Only old books, with old language.
I know one Author, his books were translated.
Scott Hahn.

Do you know other Authors, that books were translated into german?
Thanks a lot and God Bless.

Excuse me for going off at a tangent, but I’m curious to know what you mean, exactly, by “old books, with old language.” Among the most interesting books I have read, in the theology and Biblical department, are several by German authors, in particular Joachim Jeremias and Martin Hengel. I read them in English translations, of course. Would you include these under the heading, “old books, with old language”?

The Germans have the writings of Joseph Ratzinger, what more do you need? 😜

In all seriousness, I cannot say that I know of which English language apologetics books have been translated into English. I would try looking up some of the bigger names. You said you already know of Scott Hahn. Try looking for Peter Kreeft, Karl Keating, and Patrick Madrid.

Haha, i know. Ratzinger is good, but hes not that typical “catholic apologetic”.
Thanks for the names, i will search about that.

God Bless

Mh, i dont know how it is in english. In German it is BAD to read those books from the 18th century. Church fathers even got easier language.

Its a german problem i think. Martin Luthers original scriptures have to be translate from german into german again, otherwise i would understand nothing. (I wanted to read about his funny arguments)

Hey Thank you for the comments. I will search about the authors you named! Sounds good.
