I think it will be good for them to stay uninvolved, even if not for the right reasons. I just pray God opens their minds and hearts to the Truth, and they stop their sinning lifestyle all together.

I think it’s excellent of the mayor to call for tolerance. I hope the German Gay community can put aside their hatred for the Church during his visit.
Like I say, are we not our brother’s keeper?

They won’t. The truth is that Homosexuals are not so much protesting to convince others that what they do is “normal”. They are trying to convince themselves. Hatred allows them to keep from focusing on the disordered lives they live.

I thought we were the only ones that had to be tolerant. As for as I can tell, the politically correct do not have to be tolerant.

I hate to favor anything that would cause discomfort to the Holy Father. But I hope the gay activists show their true colors, as it might clearly show Germans what their choices really are.

The German government is asking them to tolerate us?!
His plea comes as German police investigate gay pride participants in Germany who constructed a float with an effigy of the Pope sporting a rainbow flag hairstyle, red AIDS ribbon and holding a condom.
In opposition to the Pope, Gay campaigner Peter Tatchell appeared on the recent EuroPride march with a picture of him dressed as a drag queen with a sign saying “Pope Betty Benedict XVI, Queen of Homophobia.”
Terry Sanderson from the Gay and Lesbian Humanist Association told PinkNews.co.uk: “It seems incredible that the gay community in Germany has to sit quiet and respectful while this horrible little man makes increasingly defamatory comments about them.
“I hope that there is a general protest – not just a gay one – against the Pope. Instead, we’ll probably just get the usual sycophantic media coverage showing large crowds of worshippers and portraying anyone who disagrees and protests as an extremist.
“It’s time those who think the Vatican’s policies are downright evil ought to stand up and be counted.”
This is sick. I cannot begin to state my outrage at this.

I think this whole thing needs to be recognized for what it is: a semantic charade put on by a virulently pro-homosexual politician. The article linked to is rife with examples of this mayor’s anti-family efforts. Surely he knows that his plea is unlikely to be heeded. This call for “tolerance” is a disingenuous attempt by the mayor to make himself appear like the bigger man when if fact he is not much more than a foot-soldier for the Culture of Death.

The only silver lining that I can see in the article is the criminal investigation into the sordid and defamatory representations of the Holy Father by these infantile persons who are awash in their own perversions.

We are truly in a culture war in this world. I’m sure the gay rights activists will do everything they can to discredit and embarrass the Pope. They’ll probably do it in an insensitive and vile way and relish the fact that they are being outrageous. If they want to get their point (which is clearly wrong and immoral) across they should at least show some dignity, respect and professionalism but I’m sure they’ll do it in the most flamboyant and irreverent way. Let’s all pray that they come to know the truth.

Yes. They tried to do that same thing at World Youth Day in Denver, Mother Angelica said, “I’m so tired of you liberal Church of America.” Maybe B16 ought to say that?

I think you’re trying to convince yourself of that.

There is no need for me to "convince: myself of anything. One of the Joys of being Catholic is we have 2,000 years of teachings and traditions to fall back on . We don’t have to start “anew” to convince ourself on any issue regarding Faith and morals. The Church , with the guidance of the Spirit, has done all the heavy lifting for us.
