Well we’re getting down to the wire as they say. Just a few weeks til Easter Vigil and the RCIA people will have their big night and be received into the Church.

I for one am very excited! Time really has gone pretty fast, but I notice as it gets closer to Easter I really long for the Eucharist. It will be such a difference after the scrutinies, not to be sent away, but to be welcomed and join in with my Church in receiving Jesus.

So, my fellow RCIA’ers… how are you doing in these final weeks. Are you excited? Are you having more questions or doubts? What’s going through your mind?

Does that tell you anything?

First confession tomorrow

P.S. SU and I are going to Irondale to get a few days away after Easter, and we’re intending to spend all day Wednesday at EWTN.

Don’t bounce inside the confessional. The light on the outside is connected to pressure on the kneeler.

You don’t want the people in line after you to think your having some kind of seizure.

It won’t be in the confessional; I’ll be face-to-face with Fr. Kevin in his office.

those of you who have not turned in documents requested, such as birth certificate and baptismal certificate if you were baptized in another denomination, proof of marriage or annulment, or paid the fees for your books, or made up missed classes, retreats, service projects or complied with other seemingly arbitrary demands by your RCIA director, please get on the stick. He or she has a mountain of paperwork and documentation, since properly recording sacraments is a requirement of Canon Law, and needs your cooperation. Thank you. This message brought to you by your local RCIA team.

also these final weeks of Lent, particularly Holy Week are now more for prayer, reflection and preparation rather than formal study. Let the Holy Spirit work on your heart and complete your preparation. Try not to do a lot of shopping, travel, extra workload on the job, social engagements, or take on unnecessary demands in other areas of life. This has to be your number one priority, and please ask your family and those around you to respect your need for quiet time alone, and to pray for you. Try to attend all the Holy Week liturgies, they are a major part of your formation, especially the proclamation of the Passion. If you have a choice between hearing it or watching the movie, hear it in Church first, get the DVD later.

I’m happy for all of you – will keep you in my prayers. Welcome, welcome, welcome!!!

That goes ditto for me…Welcome Home! You will officially have a billion adopted brothers and sisters in the Catholic Faith!
