I grew up protestant, baptized and all, but there is no doubt that I want to become catholic soon. The most difficult part was getting the idea across to my mother who is very much against it, but she is understanding I am happy there and she seems to be okay as long as I look into it for myself. I have been attending every sunday for the last two months and it has been such an enjoyful experience. My question is, since I’m not catholic yet (looking into RCIA as I speak), how can I get involved before classes in september? I’d love to talk with more people locally that are catholics, groups, etc. in their college age. I am just not sure what to do at my state other than just make the best out of it every sunday. But I just attend and leave afterwards. There’s no connections sadly. Although I attend with my father, he is not a practicing catholic anymore but he still enjoys attending. I am longing for more connections in the Oregon area. Is there anything I can do at this point?
