How do you all keep things organized and get things/errands you need to do done, when you are working full-time? My job right now has me working till 8pm two days a week, and long days just get me tired and lazy. i need to get a lot of things done but don’t know what the best way to get me organized is. Any good phone apps that any of you use ?

I have no app knowledge, but I would say that weekends (or whatever days you are off) are your time to get things organized. Shop for the upcoming week, prep your food or cook ahead. Prep your crockpot meal the night before, pop it in as you leave for work, and dinner will be done when you arrive home. Straighten up and take care of your bill paying on your days off. During the week, do one load of wash each night, not a marathon. It is much easier to deal with wash on an ongoing manner than to do it all at once and be stuck there all day. 😊

I completely understand! I run errands right after work if I can. Otherwise, if I go home I know I won’t want to go back out.

That is especially true in the wintertime! ❄️ ❄️ ❄️
Has to be something really important to make me go back out again. Otherwise, I am in for the night, parked in my chair with my cat and husband nearby.

Important to prioritize your to do’s. What are the few things that are the most important. Do those.

I don’t use apps. I write my schedule out and put it where I can see it while working.

Daily planner.
Every day. First thing
Be sure to cross things off as they are completed.
That way you can feel good about the progress and make the left off thing a priority the next day.
It’s important not to get discouraged.

I figure if the bed is made, the dishes are washed and the trash is out-I am doing pretty good. Seriously, I get a ton of magizines and ads in the mail every day at annoy me. The many magizines go to the Goodwill Store. Googwill also takes empty boxes… Also, if you can set aside 15 minutes a day to declutter you will be surprised how much you progress you can make in a short time. Good luck. Peace.

Yes! Also, each Lent I do this:
I take one item from my closet or home and donate it either to Good Will, the parish needy box, or some organization. Tidy in no time!

Painless too.

Mama donates 8 books for Lent. As much stuff as we’ve thrown out this week, there may not be anything to donate for Lent this year. Terrible to have something like a broken water heater make you have to throw so much out.

Oh, I have lots of stuff I don’t need. Pans I’ll never use, extra blender, figurines collecting dust, all kinds of stuff. LOL

Every year for lent I actually go on a food-shopping break and try to make sure that the pantry is “Eaten down”. It works really well.

I need to do that for medicine though. I pulled out an generic tylenol PM and it had expired in Jan of 2013.

Oops.

HA! Yes! I don’t know why I feel compelled to save old meds. Potentially dangerous too!

Yep.

My issue tends to be the “important but rarely used” meds…like Tylenol PM. When I need it, I need it…but I really only need it 2-3 times a year. Same with things like stool softener
or anti-dirreal…that’s a once a year thing, but when you need it you don’t want to be running out.
