Getting ready???

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

August 13 begins our 33 Day journey of preparation for Total Consecration ( or Reconsecration) to Jesus through Mary. See HERE
The following words may help us “get ready” to begin:

… De Montfort understood so clearly the place that belongs to Mary in the work of sanctification that he made devotion to this sweet Mother, not something superficial or intermittent, consisting of isolated practices with a special place and hour in our day, but constant and essential, reaching to the very depths of our heart and filling our whole being and all our life like a heavenly perfume.

The method … is not artificial. It does not impose on Christian life the particular note of filial tenderness that the saint himself professed for the Blessed Virgin Mary. It simply shows how to bring to Christian life the traditional Catholic teaching about Mary. That is, it gives her her proper place as universal Mediatrix of the graces of God… (Archbishop Martinez)

If you have never read St. Louis de Montfort’s little book, True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin perhaps you’ll consider reading what this saint has written about Consecration as a perfect renewal of our Baptismal promises, and all the motives for consecration ourselves to Jesus through Mary. Perhaps you’ll consider Consecration on Sept. 15 after our 33 days of preparation beginning this coming Thursday, Aug. 13. Perhaps you’re already praying about it and getting ready for new graces God wants to give us.
