So do I. 🙂 Our constitution is a pretty good one, after all. Still, we have to be vigilant, which is why we have lawyers to argue for religious freedom, and we need them, yes?
We surely do, and vigilance is good. Separation of church and state is also very good. It keeps us out of a lot of problems.

Personally, while I can certainly understand governments recognizing civil unions and such as that, I think marriage is specifically religious, and throughout history has always been tied to religion. Without religion, marriage is just a civil union, more like two companies merging, whether temporarily or permanently. It’s just a temporary legal contract, which is basically all marriage has become in the modern world. I don’t think the validity of marriage should be dependent upon governments recognizing them.
