Gifts of the Holy Spirit? Like praying in tongues, healing,

What is the churches stance on the gifts of the spirit like praying in tongues, healing, prophecy, interpretation etc? I know there’s been a lot of research on particularly speaking in tongues being fake but what about healings or prophecies? Why does God seem to be not nearly as involved in the modern world in that way? I know there’s also a Bible passage speaking in the faith of a mustard seed being enough to move a mountain does that mean no one has faith?

These gifts are usually called charisms (to distinguish them from the 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit received at Confirmation).

Charisms are gifts given to some/few for the edification of all/many. They are not necessary for every Christian, nor should they be sought for one’s own fulfillment. They are to be subjected to authority and the proper ends for which they were given. (see 1 Cor. 12-14).

Our local parish is rich in these Charisms, I have personally witnessed others pray in tongues as well as “rest” in the Spirit.
These gifts are most definitely biblical.

The Church isn’t typically doesn’t get involved with the miracles and healings within the Charismatic movement; they are for the spiritual edification of the persons praying (or being prayed for) and are not shared publicly.

True, and since these gifts are used within a specific group or event, such as a prayer group, conference or Mass there’s not a lot to discuss.
