I’m talking about the women in this country, and it’s throughout her lifetime. Where do I get this statistic? From every research on the subject done and from every organization I’ve looked into. When I said “world”, I meant society. But it wouldn’t surprise me if it was the world, knowing what usually is the fate of many women all over the world.

I was able to find a few sources

Here is one for 10 percent of women

Here is one that says 1/6

And here is one that says 1/3

Upon looking at them though many operate under the pretense that sexual assault is under reported.

Underreporting of sexual crimes is not something that can be dismissed as unsubstantiated as long as there are no stats to back it up. What makes it underreported is the same what makes stats or polls unreliable if at all possible: people don’t want to talk about it, don’t want to go through the judicial machine with it, they fear retribution, they know the attacker, they believe they are themselves to blame, all those things. The fact that sometimes unreported sexual crimes come to light is a strong indication that there is such a fact as unreporting sexual crimes and that there are more unreported ones than merely those which come to light to in the end. The estimate is hard to nail down and it would be guesswork for the largest part. But I don’t believe this is a pretence - the unreported sexual crimes are not a narrow margin.

I don’t think girls are to blame completely. We’re taught to dress like that, in magazines, in the media, in ads, and yes, even by our own families. We’re told that it’s the worst thing in the world to be alone, that if we don’t dress like that, we’re not pretty and we’ll never attract anyone. And sometimes, that’s what’s available in the stores. I had the hardest time finding modest clothing for a long time, didn’t matter what it was.
Men (and woman) are also taught that porn, masturbation, lustful thinking and pre marital sex constitutes acceptable behavior. Today I read a front-page headline on one of Denmark’s trash newspapers, stating that 70% of the woman in my country watches porn. I did not read the article or know if it is true, but the actual percentage is undoubtedly high. The fact of the matter, is that chastity is not about a war between men and woman. Rather it is about guarding and celebrating the dignity of both sexes.

All of us have to take responsibility (men AND woman), both for our own actions and the way we influence others. Yes it is difficult, yes it often goes against our upbringing, and yes we sometimes fail, but that doesn’t change anything. We have to do our best to be followers of Christ, and that includes wearing modest clothes. If that goes against modern fashion trends for woman (and yes I admit, as a man it is easier to find clothes that are both modest and fashionable), then so be it.

God bless you

Sexual attraction is the root of romantic love,

And romantic love is the foundation of enduring love.

Thus, all that temptation is the impetus to follow the biblical injunction to be fruitfull and multiply.

Great post! 👍

If a woman dresses like a slut, she has to answer for that in the next life. No woman is ignorant of how she dresses and the responses it will get. Men should ignore it, but that doesn’t make the woman this poor little victim. What’s really annoying is how women dress like harlots and then bash on men for looking. They deserve the treatment they get because by their lack of modesty they are asking for it. Besides, women whine on this whole issue more than men.
I completely agree with this post. 👍

Sexual attraction is not the root of romantic love.

Sexual attraction is not just the immediate attraction to suggestive body features and gesture. In the broad sense, any attraction that gets past the level on which you appreciate a work of art, a ripe fruit, a nice animal, a cute child, which involves a person of the opposite gender and in which the issue of gender is not incidental, could be termed as sexual attraction. In short, any pheromone or hormonal work is sexual attraction. That kind of thing is a big part of romantic love.

Not true, and this leaves out the whole notion of intention (love vs lust).

Pure love as God designed it is not based on romantic love. Romantic love (along with our sexuality) is a gift from God to us and is good, but it is not the love that brings souls to heaven. In the context of marriage, you could think of romantic love as something that should come as a result of pure love but is not love’s foundation. God is love and created us in His image for love. Love is willing the good of another and is definitely of God.

Lust, on the other hand, is a disordered, self-seeking perversion of love and is not of God. The main difference between love and lust is one’s intention. When one is tempting another, the goal of doing this is always to satisfy one’s own lust. One wouldn’t tempt another for purposes of pure love. In other words, if one is really trying to image God’s love as we were created for, one sees others as the creations they are and has no need to tempt them into being used as objects to fuel one’s lust. Using procreation to justify temptation is not appropriate and amounts to ignoring God’s plan for our sexuality.
