I’d like to give my spiritual director a late Christmas gift, but I’ve got no idea what to give. Actually, I’ve never done this before, not even had one over for dinner, so I’m clueless about it. Suggestions welcome.

TIA

Diocesan or religious? Sometimes orders hold everything in community, so if you give the priest a gift, it may not be ‘his’. Either way, I’d go w/ a gift certificate. Starbucks if he likes coffee, a grocery store card, a gas card etc.

Do a search using “gift” and “priest”. There was a thread similar to this during Advent. Lot sof good stuff.

Some good heads up indeed.

He’s a retired diocesan priest living in a retirement home of his congregation, though he still presides over two Masses every Sunday.

I like the idea of a gift card. Though not as nice as a personal gift, considering that I don’t know him very well, it’s a safe bet.

He’s probably 70 or older, any particular store one would recommend or rather a mall gift card? Would it be too tacky to give him a drugstore gift card?

TIA

A generic mall gift card might be nice. That way he could get shoes, socks, underclothes etc. —KCT
