Liza — I had to laugh when I read this. For some reason, I heard my little, Filipina mother with her cute accent say that. (Maybe because I’ve heard her many times say, “I’m sorry… but that’s horrible,” when it came to music she found tasteless.) She never minces words and would have said the same thing to that sound bite. People don’t get upset with her because she is always so cute when she tells the truth - at least when it comes to things like that. Thanks for the smile.

Our Cathedral does some beautiful mass settings. For our wedding, the choir did the Palestrina Missa Aeterna Christi Munera. They don’t sound as professional sounding as the ones in the recording, but it was still spiritually beautiful. I’m happy we were allowed to have the Kyria and Gloria sung at our Nuptial mass. We chanted the Sanctus, Mortem Tuam, Amen and Pater Noster and used the Agnus Dei from the Missa Aeterna Christi Munera.

Tracks 6-10 is the mass we used. Track 7 is the Gloria. I loved singing this Gloria. His Missa Brevis is also beautiful.

They also do the Schubert Deutsche Messe in English, although they can’t do the Agnus Dei, since the English translation doesn’t work.
