hi all,

as my first year in college, i’ve tried everything but the kitchen sink to be social. joined four clubs including the ultimate frisbee team including playing basketball near all the time… but no friends. Like no friends at all. Yeah I know them but they just pass me on. And I have been praying for a girlfriend for four months but still no answer from God. Instead, he choose to plague with depression and misery along with constant psyschological dreams that make me even more misrable for the final four months of the year. On top of that, bombarding me with testostorone as a cruel joke even though I can’t meet girls here.

Why can’t he just let me be happy and have friends and a girlfriend? Is that to much to ask for? Sh*t…

What you’re asking God for is an interference with their free will. That’s never gonna happen. Whether or not people like you has to be their choice.

Does your school offer any sort of counseling service? It might be good to get an experienced, outside opinion on what’s going on in your social life. They might have good tips and be able to provide a perspective on your situation that you would never think of.

You are funny…
So, you thinks friends and a girlfriend will give you paradise.
Maybe God will punish you and will give you a girlfriend, one o those you wishes you would never had.
And some friends that are a pain on the neck.
God has been good to you.
From the way you talk you do not seem prepared to have friends or girlfriend. You seem to be rather imature. let time pass by, grow up, enjoy life, study a lot for that is what you went to college for and do not worry about the rest.
As much as you thin on that, as much you will not get.
When you are mature and ready, they will come on droves, till your head turns round…

As someone who’s been there, (and is on his second year of college), I can confidently tell you this: You won’t have time for a girlfriend, so instead of getting annoyed at him (like I used to), thank Him for giving you the luck of not having someone to take up you time. Trust me, you’re going to need it.

Same goes for friends.

Holdfast to God.
Tell him if it be his will. Maybe for a reason you dont have someone, it could be a distraction from studies.

First year for everyone is hell and I don’t know anyone who hasn’t changed their circle of friends of the course of uni, so don’t worry much about friends. You may want to talk with a therapist, if your uni offers those services, or any family members you are close to. Don’t be ashamed to do so, either.

I don’t think you’re ready for a girlfriend given that first year is hell and you’re feeling particularly distraught. Neither do I get the impression that that’s what you’re really looking for right now – I think you just want close company and less isolation from girls.

God bless you.

Sounds like you could really use some good psychiatric care. Please don’t be ashamed to get help. When you are happy with yourself, the friends and relationships will come easy. People will naturally avoid those who seem depressed, angry, feeling sorry for themselves, hostile and miserable. When you are in a good place, people will want to spend time with you. You can do it. Pick up the phone and get help.
