I was thinking about our hidden personal fears …
For some, it may be regarding a possible loss of sight, or of hearing;
For some a loss of relationship, or a fear of never finding a special love,
For some, our fear is for our loved ones,
For some, finding themselves forgetting a name or word, may be a nagging fear of a possible onset of dementia;
For some, it is of a potential failure, or a fear of losing faith, or of not being “good enough” … there are any number of things that can haunt us in the night. I have mine.
I thought we could pray for us all, against our hidden fears, and for trust and protection,
but also for the grace of acceptance and courage, if our fears turn inexorably to reality.

Help us, Lord, and bless us, for we are human, and vulnerable, and we need Your compassion, your guidance, and your protection, for ourselves and each other

Nice to see you again!

Yes, our own personal fears do show up.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
That never was it known
that anyone who fled to thy protection,
Implored thy help,
or sought thy intercession,
Was left unaided.

Inspired by this confidence,
I fly unto thee,
O virgin of virgins, my mother.
To thee do I come,
before thee I stand,
Sinful and sorrowful.

O mother of the Word Incarnate,
Despise not my petition,
but in thy mercy,
Hear and answer me.

Amen.

Prayer to St. Thérèse of Lisieux

Holy St. Thérèse, prodigy of miracles, you
gasped for every breath as tuberculosis
choked your young life. May we learn from
your struggles, doubts, and fears.

May we recall your final words: “Oh my
God, I love You.” Little Flower, pray for us
to cling to Jesus as you did.

Shower us with roses of consolation and
courage. In Jesus’ name, amen.

++++++++

For @Trishie’s intention.
