God is great!

Wow, just thought I’d share this experience with everyone.

As some know, I run a martial arts class in a poor area of London for children and teens. Recently we’ve hit a snag, with a couple of people leaving, and we found ourselves facing closure within a few months.

I remember talking about it Saturday morning and saying ‘‘we need 10 more students, and then things will right themselves’’ So that night I prayed to God, and for the first time I really tried to mean it when I said ‘‘I place my needs in your hands’’, I wasn’t thinking of the school, I just meant in general.

Sunday afternoon class-3 new members!
Today (Tuesday) class-6 new members!

And another promised for next Sunday! Total of 10!

I know this sounds like me talking about business concerns, but it isn’t that at all, it is just the realisation that when I placed my needs in His hands, He came through for me, again. I am amazed at the speed and efficiency of prayer.

well hey of course we put our business concerns in His hands, they occupy a huge part of our lives, and are the main arena in which we live out our Faith and witness to Christ. I am always amazed by how well things go when I pray, and how they schlump when I am not praying, about the job specifically.

you’d think I’d know better by now.

struggled all week with syllabus for each grade level, how to incorporate everything we are expected to cover, esp. what is not in the text. started praying specifically for help and guidance to the Holy Spirit, woke up in the middle of the night with the whole comprehensive program in my mind, worked like gangbusters all day typing it up. bam. done.
