God is beyond logic. This means that the actions of God are beyond the normal logical analysis of human beings. His actions appear to be beyond the capacity of logic but it does not mean that they are illogical and unjust. When scholars discuss deeply, the actions are found to be really justified. For example Krishna danced with Gopikas. This action appears to be illogical and unjust because our power of vision is limited to this birth only.

These Gopikas were sages in previous birth and requested the Lord to give salvation from all the bonds like bond between husband and wife, bond between parents and children and bond with money. Krishna attracted their children and stole butter, which was their hard earned money. Ordinary human beings who cannot see beyond this birth can never understand these actions. Beyond logic means not illogical but superlogical. Beyond justice does not mean unjust but superjustice.

One of the Arguments for the existence of God is The Argument from Degrees of Perfection.
In other words, we all recognize that intelligent being is better than unintelligent being; that a being able to give and receive love is better than one that cannot; that our way of being is better, richer and fuller than that of a stone, a flower, an earthworm, an ant, or even a baby seal.

But if these degrees of perfection pertain to being and being is caused in finite creatures, then there must exist a “best,” a source and real standard of all the perfections that we recognize belong to us as beings.

This absolutely perfect being—the “Being of all beings,” “the Perfection of all perfections”—is God.
While God, the external creator of this universe, is Infinite and therefore can not be completely understood by beings with a limited capacity, that does not mean that God is inconsistent with logic. God created logic and God created faith. God is perfect and therefore can not be inconsistent or contradictory. Therefore faith and logic are not inconsistent of contradictory.

Dattaswami:

I think you’ll enjoy Fides et Ratio (Faith and Reason) an encyclical written by John Paul II regarding the relationship between faith and reason. It’s a great read even though it is a little dense. You can download it for free at the vatican web site. If you do read it, come back and let’s discuss it here.

There’s no doubt that logic and truth are distinct realities and should not be confused.

Truth can exist without our ability to logically access it. For example, the laws governing atomic energy were true before they could be known to be logical. If you had told someone living three thousand years ago that they could talk to someone and see someone living three thousand miles away just by picking up a telephone or turning on a television, your property might be taken from you and you might be put in a place where you could not harm others or yourself. In this case, you would seem to be someone who had lost his mind.

In like manner, the Big Bang and Evolution happened long before we were able to logically access those truths. Only in modern times have we begun to grapple with them.

So also, God’s highest and most difficult truths to grasp will be mysteries to us until we are able to logically and directly access them at a moment God has appointed for us to do so … namely in the next world where and when we will have these truths revealed to our delight or our dismay … whichever we deserve.
