I’ve had almost a revelation, a huge moment of inspiration. This thought came to my mind:

“God must the conscious causation of everything.”

Does this make sense? Basically, Gods consciousness is what created our physical universe, its what created matter. In order for everything we know to exist, it must have been started, or created. There has to be a consciousness to make something like our universe exist. If there is no intent for something to exist, how would it exist? How does anything exist without intent? How can atoms exist if there is no intent, or desire by something else for them to exist? What causes this physical universe to exist by itself, with no other cause creating it?

Glad to see you thinking. Did you know that your Catechism of the Catholic Church discusses these things and much more of interest to you and the rest of the world?
Take a good look. 👍

This is quite true and one of Aquinas’s Five proofs of the existence of God.👍

Its supposed to be “God must be the conscious causation of everything.” I don’t know how I missed that.

Everything? That would include all the atrocities, misery, pain, hunger… etc… and you say that God is the conscious cause of “everything”? Of course I would not disagree with you, but somehow surprised that such unorthodox idea is being presented. 😉

So, your argument boils down to this: “Right now, without any deep understanding or intensive study of physics, I don’t know how the universe could exist by itself. Therefore God had to have done it.”

There is another possibility. It’s that you aren’t an expert in cosmology.

Only infinite things are sufficient to cause themselves.
The universe is finite.
Therefore the universe is insufficient to cause itself.

God is the **ultimate **Cause of everything…

There isn’t a single physicist or “cosmologist” that can tell you how things came to exist. They have these things called theory’s. A theory is something that has not been proven. When they prove it it becomes what is called a law. These theories include

Theory of big bang
Theory of relativity
String theory
M theory

All of these theories work to an extent in application but at some point each of them has serious problems to the point that we are not even sure of what we are looking at anymore.

Most scientists will tell you that science proves God. They will also tell you that in 100 years they will find out that almost everything we thought we knew was wrong.

All of God’s word has come true. Do the research. God’s word is law even a physicist will tell you that his word is theory.

In response to God and sin. God created conscious beings with free will. He knew that both angels and humans would fall even before our creation. It is also the way an entity with perfect love and infinite wisdom saw fit to create things.

He created things that he knew would sin. He hates the sin. These two things are true. Now remember that trying to think like God is like a germ trying to think like you only infinitely more pointless than even that.
