Let us pray for this misguided (I’m being kind here) person.
Let us also not forget that Mary not only said Yes to God, but that she was by the standards of her culture an adult woman who was about to be married, or by some definitions, already married. Not a “teen” minor as we legally define it today.

It’s ironic that it’s on the eve of tomorrow’s feast that we hear this. He claims Mary isn’t able to consent. But she’s the most able human ever in history to consent to God’s will.

“Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” – Mary - 4 B.C.

seriously OP, the second sentence indicates the attack the author of this article is making on the Virgin Mary.

"he also shares a satanic symbol on his twitter page’

This person can suggest all he wants until the cows come home, doesn’t make it true and just puts him in the service of evil.

These type of people who have nothing better to do then attack the Virgin Mary and the church are not worth our time and effort.
Discern and dismiss. The internet allows for all peoples.

Begone satan.

If this is the same article I saw, she did give consent, “Let it be done to me according to thy will”

Just goes to show you that having impressive degrees doesn’t make you smart (or even able to read text).

Begone Satan is right. I looked at the twitter myself and there seems to be something in his header that translates to “hail Satan.” Im not too fond of this mess. Blessed be God forever.

The guy is a troll, similar to the professor who posted things about wanting a White Genocide for Christmas.
Such people are best just ignored. They are posting outrageous things to get attention.
Don’t give it to them.

No, Professor Sprankle, the subject of the article., is a troll (just look at his Twitter) .

Not the OP or the author of the news article.

This makes me sad. I don’t care if this professor is an atheist, or whatever, but to me one of the most beautiful (and, for me, engendering of faith) stories in the New Testament is Mary’s assent to what will happen, at enormous personal risk to herself.
