I probably should have mentioned this earlier. At the end of the retreat, meaning on Thursday, she said a closing prayer and blessed me, and I quote “In the name of the Creator, the Redeemer, and the Sanctifier.”
Yeah, this indicates that she has an ulterior agenda that goes beyond teaching the truth. Might be worth reporting or calling out if you get another chance. Whatever you’re comfortable with.
It sounds like it might have originally been a reference to the Gnostic Pistis Sophia, a female-gendered concept of a universal spirit of wisdom, from whom a host of gods, including the Judeo-Christian Yahweh figure, were brought forth. St. Jerome was one of the original Christian mystics and would have been familiar with Gnostic writings.
