Going through a spiritual darkness

Hello brothers and sisters,

I am reaching out for some prayers to help me through the spiritual darkness I am going through currently. I pray and seek God and I have felt very distant from Him. I don’t get that big burst of joy I was so used to. I just feel empty most times and that has been very, very difficult for me. I’m sturdy in my faith, going to mass weekly, pray at night, pray the rosary every other day, and I read the Liturgy of the Hours once or twice a week. have tried some things (confession, more prayer, focus on Godly and holy things) in hopes of making my situation better, but it hasn’t done a ton to help. Any support is appreciated ❤️ God bless ❤️
 
I totally empathize with what you are going through. I have been there, and it can be very disorientation, for sure!. For me it lasted almost two years, but then it began to fade… so, I would say be patient and, in some ways, just relax as it will pass. Think of this time as God working remotely. He is always with you, always near you but he has other things on his mind right now. He knows that you are OK! Grow in security of KNOWING God is with you, even though you don’t feel it. Also be mindful of depression or other physical reasons, or life changes that may be contributing to your experience. Prayer is always good, but don’t feel like more prayer is a “quick fix.” Pray naturally…it’s okay not to pray all the time if it feels forced. Better to aim for simplicity and sincerity. Most of all know that things will get better… 🙂

O Lady of Mental Peace,

Mother of Tranquility

and Mother of Hope,

look upon Greenybird in this time

of weakness and unrest.

Teach her searching heart

to know that God’s Love

for her is unchanging and

unchangeable, and, that

true human love can only

begin and grow by touching

His Love.

Let your gentle Peace -

which this world cannot give
  • be always with her.
And, help her to bring this

same Peace into the lives

of others.

Our Lady of Mental Peace,

Jesus, Help Me!

In every need let me come to You with humble trust,

saying:

In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations:

In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials:

In the failure of my plans and hopes, in disappointments,

troubles and sorrows:
