Did you know that in Diocese where they have Eucharistic Adoration (especially perpetual adoration) vocations are up? I don’t know where the stats are, but I’ve seen them before (check with Catholic Answers, I’ll bet they can get it for you). You might want to see if there is Eucharistic Adoration anywhere in driving distance that you can join. If it’s possible, it would be great if the priest would allow an hour during his weekly visit to your church (can he stick around for an extra hour and could he start with a class explaining what adoration is for others in the parish, including the proper ways to show respect).

In addition to trying to participate in adoration yourself, you might want to try to encourage your bishop with the stats regarding the efficacy of adoration in bringing about vocations.

I was thinking about the link and realized that it makes perfect sense. If we want young men to commit their lives to the Church, they need to know and love Christ in the Eucharist. It is ONLY a full appreciation of what makes the Catholic Church unique that will bring in the commitments we need to fill our seminaries and serve our parishes.

If you are unable to find any adoration that you can participate in, simply adore Christ in the tabernacle when you can. Do everything in your power to love Him intensely, despite the perceived disrespect you see around you.

Remember, as He Himself said, “Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do.”

Love Christ in the tabernacle, and love Christ in your fellow parishioners.

I often go to the church to be with Jesus and pray by the Tabernacle and talk with Him. I spend hours there on days off sometimes I go late at night. I have been able to convince them through another person to have Eucharistic Adoration but it is only the first friday of the month for one hour after the Chaplet which I worked for so long to have. We have no priest come, a Eucharistic Minister places the Body on the monstrance. I think another thing that will be hard for me is that because I do spend so much time in the empty church I will miss it greatly. The nearest church is 25 miles away and is kept locked up. But, today I find myself with more peace in spite of the sorrow. Grieving is difficult but I know through much experience with it that it does get easier and I’m sure is nothing compared to the grief that Jesus felt as He looked down from the cross.

Continue loving Christ and visiting Him when and where you can. Your example is changing hearts, whether you see the fruit of your efforts or not!

God Bless,

CARose
