I’m going to my first Melkite Catholic service tonight, which is vespers. What should I expect? Anything I should know so I’m not too lost? Any traditions that a Latin Rite Catholic may not be aware of? Any advice? Thank you!

I bet it’s too late to give advice, but how was it?
I thought it was very nice and beautiful! Part of it was in Arabic. Also, I like how it was very traditional and reverent. The way they chant was very interesting as well. The people there were very very nice, and they helped me to understand what was going on. I think I will go to the divine liturgy the Sunday after next.

I recommend it!

The best thing to do with Eastern services the first few times is simply go and experience them.

Don’t get bogged down in a book.

Was part in Arabic–or Greek? In their “homelands,” Melkites use both.
