But there were only about 18 people there. 4 nuns, 2 Priests, 1 deacon, 11 people. Nothing like what I have been told by my anti-catholic relatives. I knew a lot of the prayers but I didn’t know the chinese version of the prayers so I tried my best to follow along My little brother went to Mass with me too.
They were friendly but worried
But everything is ok now.But, even that grace of repentance is grace. God will use a hole into our souls the size of a pinhole to reach our hearts. He will use whatever opening he needs to get through to our souls. Even someone in mortal sin who realizes that what he did was wrong can get the grace to turn to the Lord. So, there is some profit here for a spiritual communion.
I’m not sure about this and if someone has official Church teachings I would love to hear if while in sin will God still grant us graces.
Your story is a wonderful story. There must be a lot of animosity from protestants again Catholics in your area for they were afraid you may do something like profane the Eucharist. I hope that your witness will provide an opening in your mom’s understanding of our Savior and allow the Holy Spirit to come in and convert her too.This was the best day of my life! I was so happy! I felt very confortable there. The church was called “Mother of Christ church”.
I told the Priest about my situation, he would have allowed me receive Communion but, I did not have a chance to speak with him before Mass.
It was quite interesting
It is amazing how Jesus has moved. My mother’s friend (name is Josephine, the one who took me, my little brother, and her adopted daughter to Mass) has done orphanage work and helped many disabled children. She recently adopted a little girl from China (whose name is Jacqueline) the little girl was abandoned by her parents when she was a baby, she is currently 8 now. The problem was that she (Josephine) had no one to watch the little girl if she had to go to china for any business. She has been secretly Catholic for quite some time now. It turns out a lot of the orphanages and ministries she worked with were Catholic, she converted but never told any of her protestant relatives or friends.
My mother helps people by taking in single moms, caring for children, and helping ex-addicts regain their lives (but my mother is a zealous protestant) Recently another of my mother’s friends, who knew Josephine, told her (Josephine) that my mother watches children and can help her. She called my mom and told her abut her situation and my mother agreed to help. She came over a few times and every now and again mentioned about going to a Catholic church. My mother currently is helping watch Jacqueline.
At the same time I tried to find a way to convert and go to a Catholic church. (long story)
I asked Josephine if I could go to Mass with her, she told me to ask my mother.
I asked a few times but my mother wouldn’t allow it until yesterday… deep breath
The largest persecution in hongkong is not by the government or anything, it is mainly by anti catholic protestants. The reason I said that this would possibly be my only chance to receive the Eucharist is because there has been strong opposition against me attending a Catholic church. And attempts to try to stop me. This is why Josephine, my mother’s friend, kept her conversion a secret from protestant relatives or friends.
The Priest recommended I wait until I am an adult before converting to keep peace at the moment. Some of the nuns and a few people told the Priest they felt uncomfortable with Josephine bringing me and my little brother there because we am still technically protestant, they were afraid that we might do something

I will pray for your perseverence. I’m glad to hear that it went well at the Mass and that you felt comfortable there. Josephine sounds like a really good Catholic friend. Her insistence that you get permission from your mother before she would take you to Mass is a good sign. Your mother is a good Christian woman, too, who is doing the work of the Lord according to the knowledge that she has. Maybe some day God will bring her into the fullness of faith just as He is leading you. Your good example will be a witness to her. Hi Oumastha, I am so excited for you and for your faith in the Catholic Church! I would also like to say, thank you for trying to do the right thing and to be obedient to the teachings of the Church in whether you should receive the Eucharist yet, and what you should do when Holy Communion is being distributed! This is a wonderful desire on your part, and I am sure that God will honor and bless you for it.

Having repented and offered an Act of Contrition, they can make a Spiritual Communion, and MIGHT receive Sanctifying Grace, or possibly Actual Grace, but on does NOT receive Sacramental Grace from a Spiritual Communion.
