Hi Guys,
Since this is the best thread I can find relating to Pope Pius XII and the accusation of him being Hitler’s Pope, I’m going to direct my question here.
I am listening eagerly to Robert P. Lockwood’s Live Broadcast on Catholic Answers Live 09.01.09 7pm ET titled Catholic Urban Legends: 'Hitler’s Pope. In it he mentions how at his death in 1958, he was respected world wide for saving Jews and gives the example of Golda Meir who spoke of him highly at the United Nations. He quotes from her telegram to the Vatican saying:
‘‘During the 10 years of Nazi terror, when our people went through the horrors of martyrdom, the Pope raised his voice to condemn the persecutors and commiserate with their victims.’’
My question is: Where can i find this telegram so that i can verify this quote? I am sure i will be asked to do so and I like to have a hold of my resources that I use. Is there someone who could help me with this please?
