Can anyone recommend a good book on biblical exegesis?
That’s a very difficult question to answer, since exegesis involves interpretation, and everyone has different ideas of which interpretation is “good”.

Its like asking can any one recommend a good flavor of ice cream…vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, tutti-fruiti, rum raisin, butter pecan…see the problems?

Start with commentaries by authors you like, or just pick any one up and see what you think.

Hi Thursday,

I just bought a copy of “The Word of the Lord” by Steven C Lord from Amazon. I think if you research it, you may be interested in it. Especially read the comments.

“Early Christian Doctrine” by JND Kelly

The Didache Bible- RSV (solid Catholic commentary throughout, worth the price)

“Principles of Catholic Theology” by Pope Benedict XVI

Virtually anything by Pope Benedict XVI

Anything by St. John of Damascus

Could the author be Steven C Smith? I cannot find Steven Lord.
