Good Catholic Parishes in St. Louis

Backups occur during morning and evening rush hour on the highway. (Just like any other city.) Assuming you are not going to Mass on Christmas or Easter, you will not have any difficulty finding street parking on Lindell. There is no reason to get there thirty minutes early.

and If its like the down town of my city metered parking doesn’t apply on Sunday’s.

But I may try and get there 20 minuets early so I can pray. I won’t have that time after mass.

If you truly think that I could find parking easy near the Cathedral and that traffic afterwards may not be horrible I may try and go to Sunday Mass there, Just have to pray for no traffic issues on the way of our town. I still will give myself an hour buffer but it will probably be used up with lunch and getting Gas.

but if you truly think that traffic shouldn’t be a problem on Sunday I will probably go to the Cathedral.

Lots of good parishes in St. Charles; we are on the western side of highway 70 as you’re heading out of St. Louis. The early Masses are all going to be of the short and sweet variety with little or no music. The two oldest parishes are in the downtown area - St. Charles Borromeo and St. Peter. Both are beautiful buildings; Borromeo is my childhood parish and my DH and I were married there. I love my own parish (St. Cletus, 7:30 a.m.) but it’s nothing to brag about in terms of architecture. I’ve heard of no crazy abuses at any of these. Good luck.

St. Cletus’ mass is at 7 AM.

The cathedral has an 8 AM Mass
 
As others have mentioned, I have heard great things about St. Francis de Sales Oratory, and they have a Low Mass at 8:00 a.m. The church looks absolutely beautiful - institute-christ-king.org/stlouis/

I wouldn’t worry too much about time with an 8:00 Mass since it takes less than 6.5 hours to get to Omaha from STL. You could leave at 10:00 and still be early to your 5:00 meeting. The only church I know in Omaha that has late evening Sunday Masses (after 6:30 p.m.) is St. John’s at Creighton University, and those Masses are only during the academic year.

While in Omaha, be sure to stop by our church (Immaculate Conception). Our priests are fantastic, and you can even check out some of their sermons online - latinmassomaha.org/#

I actually will be at creighton for the majority of the summer.

day before bump

I just stopped in Festus Missouri after about 9 hours on the road or so. Nice easy day of driving. My plan tomorrow is to wake up early tomorrow morning get a quick breakfast and head to the Church. It is about a 45 minuet drive to the Cathedral Basilica. I’ll be going to 8am mass leave directly after mass and drive for about 6h 30 min.

can’t wait.

Have a safe trip, and don’t forget to stop by Immaculate Conception Church here in Omaha! If possible, try making it out to the FSSP ordinations in Lincoln on Saturday; you won’t regret it.

I will be on silent retreat at that time.

I will probably make it to many parishes I can go where ever I want to on weekends.
