I was debating someone on the morality of using condoms…and while gathering some of my facts I was horrified to discover this website:

catholicsforchoice.org/default.asp

A “Catholic” website promoting the use of condoms “Good Catholics use condoms”

:eek::eek:

Anyone can put up a website.

Of course these are dissenters and non-Catholics. I know for a long time CFFC was mostly made up of and funded by nonCatholics. It serves the pro-abortion lobby to parade “Catholics” in favor of abortion in front of legislators and the public in an attempt to confuse and divide.

Not only that, they are funded by anti-Catholic foundations like Rockefeller, Ford, and Carnegie as well as the pharmaceutical companies that manufacture contraceptives.

Yes, Kissling and her ilk are despicable for promoting this horrible scandal. They totally misrepresent what having an informed conscience means. Pray for her and everyone who works at this very misguided organization.

Separation from Holy Mother Church is what is needed. These “catholic” free choicers should be excommunicated publicly. They are even taking things to the secular courts in hopes of silencing Holy Mother Church’s teachings.

Pray for the souls of those involved.

What if you have a friend who was going to have sex with a girl no matter what, would you tell him to use a condom or no protection

I would tell him to not have sex. And to do so would be mortally sinful. If he doesn’t get “mortally sinful”, then I think he has bigger problems understanding things than just getting someone pregnant or getting a disease.

Perhaps it is unfair to poke at someone who can’t reply, but I can’t resist!

If you had a friend who you KNEW was headed for a gang fight with a gun would you give him a bullet-proof vest?

As for Kissling and CFFC, who cares what they think? We’re Catholic, we don’t look to self-proclaimed experts or self-promoters to form our consciences. We look to Christ and the church he left to care for us.

I would hope that I would not suggest using a condom.

Although I would try to talk him out of going, if that did not work and if I had a bullet-proof vest, yes I would give it to him. Wearing a bullet-proof vest is morally neutral at worst IMO. I think that isn’t a good analogy.

No, because that would be like giving him my blessing. If I knew I had a friend who was heading for a gang fight, I would turn him over to the police, for his own safety and for the safety of others. Of course, this would only be the case if he refused to turn away from the evil, in this case a gang fight.

I would tell him to absolutely not have sex period. I would not waver in that conviction because I would know that my friend’s (eternal) life was hanging on his decision to commit mortal sin. After all, if I truly loved my friend, I would want the greatest thing for him. And what is the greatest thing? Health? Nope. Wealth? Nope. Feeling good? Nope. Than what is it!?

HEAVEN!

Either way, with or without artificial birth control, the friend would be murdering his soul and the life of God within himself and thus setting himself up for Hell if he chose to have sex.

What secular folk don’t seem to grasp is that Catholics aren’t concerned with whether or not a person gets AIDS so much as they are concerned with whether or not a person gets eternal damnation, which is much MUCH worse. I would much prefer that somebody get neither, but if I had to choose between

A) friend gets AIDS but then eternal life

or

B) friend gets no AIDS but then eternal damnation

I would choose choice A WITHOUT A DOUBT.

And, as I responded in another post, giving a person a condom would be like giving him my blessing, thus directing him (and quite probably myself) towards the ultimate end of choice B.

An interesting thought, but last I knew, no police would arrest someone for being on the way to a gang fight.

Because they use the word Catholic in thier organizIations name.

I have always wondered is there any way the Catholic church can copywrite the word Catholic? If so we could easily sue the bloomin daylights out of all these organizations. I wonder if it is possible. A local college copyrighted a hue of red and they won a lawsuit…why can’t Catholic be copyrighted?

So if I told the police that there would be a gang fight involving guns they would do nothing?

Good idea, then the local authorities of Rome could sue the Church . . . . .
