Hi,
My pastor recently recommended I start listening to Christian music. He mentioned Matt Maher as an example. I started listening to some of his music on Youtube and bought a couple CDs and I like them. I would like to start listening to a variety of Christian musicians and am asking for suggestions. Are there any Christian musicians you like and would recommend I listen to?

Thanks for any recommendations. God bless you all. Amen.

Rend Collective, Hillsong (there are like 5 variations, they’re all good), Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin, Kristan Stanfill, David Crowder, Brian and Katie Torwait, Una Voce… any Gregorian chant

Casting Crowns, Kari Jobe, Audrey Assad, Hilary Scott and the Scott Family

Bethel worship, elevation worship, Jesus culture, upper room.

Tune your car radio to a Christian Radio station and listen while you drive. Alternatively at home listen via internet a radio station from your country on Live-radio.net,

Gregorian Chant. The OG.

I like listening to Mass polyphony music. Palestrina’s music is gorgeous.

I will ditto Audio Adrenaline. Pierced almost brought me to tears the first time I heard it.
I will add 4Him

Anonymous Four are a four-woman acapella group who sing medieval hymns and chants.

I don’t listen to Christian contemporary.

Get “I heart” radio on your phone.
Type Matt Maher into the search box and set up a Matt Mayer station. It will play his song along with other artist like him.

Third Day
Jars of Clay
Crowder
Mercy Me (I’d stick with their first two albums)

If you like heavier music:

Kutless
Red
Ashes Remain

Jesus Culture (with Kim Walker-Smith: strongest voice in Christian music)
Hillsong United (i.e. “Oceans” song)
Kari Jobe (“Revelation Song”, “Forever”)
Third Day (played for the Pope a few years ago)
Downhere (esp. Wide Eyed & Mystified album, Mark Martel sounds like Freddie Mercury)
Sixpence None the Richer (esp. Divine Discontent album)
Nicole C. Mullen (“My Redeemer Lives”)

Thank you. I just listened to the Hillbilly Thomists for the first time. Yep, mighty fine.
