Good church near Reading, MA

I have an Evangelical friend who is somewhat interested in the Catholic faith. He lives in Reading, MA (a northern suburb of Boston), far from me. He has gone to Mass at the parish just up the street , but, as he put it, it seemed lifeless and full of people going through the motions. (He might be misinterpreting piety, true.) I think he’s looking for something that “feels” more like what he is used to. In any case, can anyone recommend a good, solid Catholic parish in northern Boston area, where he can hook into good catechesis?

My rules: it can’t call itself a “faith community”, it has to offer confession more than 1/2 hour a week, it can’t refer to “social justice” as one of its primary goals, and it has to have good liturgy. Is that too much to ask?? You know, a CATHOLIC parish.
 
Oh yes, it also has to have a Crucifix. Here’s description of its renovations in 2000:

“And the crucifix was removed and a statue of the Risen Christ, the “Resurrection Cross”, a memorial to members of the Sullivan family, was installed.”

Good grief.
