Good Friday Adoration of the Cross

The question has to do with an adaptation of adoration of the cross on Good Friday and what may or may not be allowable.
Description of the practice:
Members of the congregation who choose to participate are given large nails prior to adoration. On Good Friday, during the services, a large cross is used for adoration. Those who have nails are invited to drive the nails into the cross. Before the Easter Vigil Mass, vines with flowers are wound through the nails signifying the resurrection.

Never heard of it in my entire life, we kiss the Cross.

I have seen Good Friday services where we put the nails in the holes of a life sized cross symbolizing that it was my personal sin that crucified Jesus and then we kissed a relic of the true Cross in humble adoration. I don’t think there is a problem in one or both practices.

During Good Friday Veneration of the Cross… at our parish, we file slowly and solemnly forward… and everyone venerates the cross… with either a kiss, a touch, bowing… and so forth.

What page is that on in the Sacramentary?

Hint: It isn’t.

Loweezi, I realize that you might not know that it isn’t in the Sacramentary, and that could very well be the reason why you posted your question here (so don’t take offense at the way I responded as it wasn’t directed at you). I’m just trying to illustrate the fact that when we ask whether or not something should be done, the Church has already answered that question. The person/persons who “plan” the Good Friday Liturgy do know that.
