Good Friday vision

It is good to have a wise companion on one’s spiritual journey.

I know I badly need a wise guide to channel my experience to the right direction. I’ll talk to my priest after Easter. Actually, he greeted me today in the crowd and shook my hand that he usually does not do. He saw something on me today. Perhaps I am still looking awestruck.

“The teaching you could not impart, the suffering you could not bear, the works of love you could not do in your short life on earth, let me impart and bear and do.”

This is a vocation. Now I feel what St. Francis might have felt under the burden of sharing the pain of Christ when he sang his song:

                Make me a channel of Your peace.
                Where there is hatred let me bring Your love,
                Where there is injury Your pardon Lord,
                And where there's doubt, true faith in You.

                Make me a channel of Your peace.
                Where there's despair in life let me bring hope,
                Where there is darkness, only light,
                And where there's sadness, ever joy.

                Oh, Master, grant that I may never seek,
                So much to be consoled, as to console.
                To be understood, as to understand,
                To be loved, as to love with all my soul.

                Make me a channel of Your peace.
                It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
                In giving to all men that we receive,
                And in dying that we're born to eternal life.
