The best part of Charlie Brown Christmas is when Snoopy gets cast as “all the animals” and is reading the script to learn his lines.

Always makes me laugh.

I once taught at a Catholic high school, and the teachers would often read some reflection appropriate to the season at the start of each class, prior to the class prayer.
I chose to play the video of Charlie Brown’s lament about the meaning of Christmas, which was answered by Linus’ reading of Luke’s Nativity account, the one Linus ends with “… That’s what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown .”

The class broke into applause. No one can answer that question better than Linus did.

CBS wanted the reading out . . . Schulz refused, and the rest is history . . .

Linus’ Gospel reading is my favorite part of the special. I always cry.
