Good introductory article/essay on the divine attributes/how to know what God is like?

Hi there! Does anyone know of a good written article that covers how one can know what God is like/the divine attributes (omnipotence, omniscience, omnipresence, mercy, goodness, etc)? I’ve spent an hour Googling a dozen Catholic sites and can’t seem to find one. Maybe I’m searching for the wrong phrases?

Something like this, but shorter, and more for beginners? Thanks

Thanks for the replies. The Stanford article seems most like what I’m looking for. I’ve tried Googling divine simplicity though and not really finding much. 😦 I’m kind of stunned that CA doesn’t seem to have a single introductory article on this topic on their magazine or website, only two beginner-unfriendly encyclopedia articles.

For what it’s worth, I’m trying to compile a curated list of articles on various Catholic topics for the benefit of other Catholics, and on this one I’ve been coming up short.

Are there really no introductory articles on this topic from Catholic apologetics sources? EWTN and the National Catholic Register are pretty empty on this too.

I’m not entirely sure what you mean by introductory, but there are certainly quite a few blogs that have a ton of material on the existence and nature of God.

I’ll list a few here to get you started.

This last one :point_up:t3: above is an Evangelical Christian, but he is thoroughly Thomistic and very sharp in his approach to the existence and attributes of God. These three sites are really the tip of the iceberg. Once you explore them, you’ll begin to see just how far the rabbit trail goes.
