Does anyone believe that only good works will get you to heaven?
I sure hope not!Does anyone believe that only good works will get you to heaven?
Can’t speak for anyone specifically except myself (and I do not believe that only good works will get you to heaven), but since it is not a teaching of the Catholic Church, I can say, in general, Catholics don’t believe that.Does anyone believe that only good works will get you to heaven?
No, no one thinks that we can get there on own.Does anyone believe that only good works will get you to heaven?
I don’t think you should say “no one” because there could be someone out there who thinks that they can “work” their way into Heaven all on their own.No, no one thinks that we can get there on own.
May I suggest the following two books:Does anyone believe that only good works will get you to heaven?
No, I don’t believe that only good works will get me to heaven, even though the gospels in many places seem to make this point. See Matthew 26:31ff, for example, where one’s entry into heaven is made dependent on what one has done or not done.Does anyone believe that only good works will get you to heaven?
Absolutely NOT!!! The bible teaches that this is not so. However, our faith and the work that follows are the fruit of God’s Grace. It is how His Grace is manifested within us.Does anyone believe that only good works will get you to heaven?
Why? Is this something somebody told you about Catholics?Does anyone believe that only good works will get you to heaven?
Ummmm no. I believe I can just buy my way into heaven. My parish sells indulgences pretty cheap. That way I don’t even have to do good works.Does anyone believe that only good works will get you to heaven?
Sorry–I gave the wrong reference! I was referring to the last judgment scene beginning at Matthew 25:31.Jim are you sure you mean Matthew 26:31? Just checking, I didn’t see that in the verse so I am wondering…
31 Then Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away because of me this night; for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’
