The four icons in my meager collection have come from St. Isaac of Syria, www.skete.com, which is actually about an hour away from my home.

The icons are beautiful, the service from St. Isaac is outstanding, and the price is perfect. I highly recommend them for icons.

We run an online bookstore and giftshop that is Eastern Catholic and Orthodox. Our web address is www.easterngiftshop.com. Have a look and let us know if we can be of any help.

Thanks

Any of the icons you see on the web site can be purchased as laminated prints. Our email is saintjoseph@roadrunner.com, email me and let me know which icons you would like as prints and I will list them in the icon prints category.

Thanks
Ronda

Further information on Monastery Icons: do a Google Search on “Sacred Arts Foundation” and you will find a link for sacredartsfoundation.com that is no longer active. If you view the Google archive you find the following text:

"Transformation Through Practical Application of Esoteric Principles

The Sacred Arts Foundation is a community of creative individuals living and working together towards the transformation of the human machine and the resulting purification of the essential self.

Community members and guests practice a transformational lifestyle that includes specific individual and group practices, including Movements, Meditation, Yoga, Community Projects and participation in various classes in the Sacred Arts. Living and working together provides each individual with many opportunities to observe one’s self in a multitude of situations.

Members are active as instructors, students, performers, gardeners, parents, builders, tricksters, etc.

The community, founded in 1979, is based in the high desert mountains of the southwestern USA. Since 1979, after years of being ‘off the grid’, the Sacred Arts Foundation opens its doors to those wishing to participate in practical techniques for survival and growth as spiritual beings in a world bombarded with impressions of the ordinary.

The natural surroundings, group work, organic gardens, creative activities and consciously prepared meals all provide for a sacred space conducive to fulfilling one’s destiny as a spiritual being."

This is clearly in contradiction to the description on the Monastery Icons website of the SAF:

“Sacred Arts Foundation is a non-profit foundation created to strengthen faith and encourage Christian devotion in churches, schools, and individuals through a ministry of traditional Christian art.”

For true icons, please visit the following suppliers and monastic institutions:

For what it’s worth, the website for Sacred Arts Foundation is below, note .ORG, not .com:
sacredartsfoundation.org

I make no declaration to their legitimacy, just wanted to correct the earlier post.

You can also find some gorgeous ikon prints on eBay. They are from SOFRINO in Moscow and are mounted on wood. Just go to eBay.com and type in RUSSIAN ICONS in the search box…

hope this helps…
Sofrino icons are the best! They are the official icon maker of the Moscow Patriarchate
sofrino.ru/ When I visited Moscow I made a trip out there. Amazing. If you ever go to Russia, go to one of their stores (they have a store in Petersburg and a few in Moscow) and stock up! Icons there are really inexpensive. I am talking like 5 dollars for a really nice icon. The only problem is transporting it. However if you are buying for your parish just tell customs that you are buying it for your “Batushka” and the superstitious Russian guards will look the other way. LOL
