Wow, I read the article, you’re right that they bashed us! I was so mad that I immediately felt guilty for breathing oxygen. I mean, isn’t that the same thing that leftist atheists do? Breathe to stay alive? Argh, I’ve become one of them!

In all seriousness, the quote was fair game: Even back then, it was a little looney to think that a Walkman would corrupt, when it also had the potential to open up a new world of Christian music. It’s that backwards, scared of the world and technology mindset that gives us Christians a bad name, and it’s a mindset I want nothing to do with.

If God didn’t like innovation, we wouldn’t have books to print Bibles on! Scrolls can be a little cumbersome!

But back to the original thought. God bless the Walkman!

I like cassettes better than cds because, while the sound might not be as good, I’ve never scratched a cassette. You stare at a compact disc for six seconds and the thing gets a scratch.

Good quality sound (not nearly as good as vinyl), but CDs are way too delicate.
I have bought several hundred CDs over the past twenty years and not one of them is scratched. I’m anal, though, so that helps. :o A CD is in the player when it is playing and when it is not, it is in the jewel case. And it is only ever handled by the edges. 😉

NOOO! I had my Walkman for about 4 years now but it finally bit the dust recently. I was looking forward to getting another walkman too 😦

I honestly thought you were talking about walkie talkies there for a minute! :o

I treat my CDs as delicately as I treat my LPs.
LPs scratch much more easily. Especially considering that to play an LP you slide a hard diamond through a soft vinyl spiral!
